Using a so-called quick action throttle or simply quick throttle reduces the angle of rotation of the throttle, this way the throttle travel is shortened. This is particularly useful when converting to a larger carburetor with a larger passage and thus longer opening travel of the throttle slide, as the long travel is simply annoying in the long run, and hand cramp are no fun.
